  • Wire Peelers
  • Cutters that can cut the wires
  • Screwdrivers whose heads are flat in shape and you will also need ratchet screwdrivers.
  • Electrical types of equipment like tapes and connectors
  • Drills are also needed in the installation process
  • A Voltmeter.
  • A Complete Back-Up System

These are the most used tools for the installation of reverse cameras but many other tools are different for different places.

6 Steps for Installation Process:

1. Fixing the Camera:

  • Firstly turn off your vehicle before the installation process and then securely remove the car’s battery monitor.
  • If the number plate of your car is causing any obstacle you can remove it.
  • Now place the camera where you want to attach it to your car.
  • Use a marker to spot where the camera’s connection gets in touch with your vehicle.

During the Reverse Camera Installation process, the location and type of your car also matter due to which you may have to remove the inside panel from the inside portion of your car but if it is in the bumping area of your car then it is not important to remove it.

When you drill a hole on the outer side of your car during the installation procedure, make sure there is no such equipment that can be harmful to you or your car. Select the size of the drill hole through which you can easily pass through the camera wire and the edging.

Now add this edging into the hole so you can make sure your wires are safe and the tough metal corners are concealed. Add the camera wire in the hole and fix it with the car using the tools you have or if you bought tools separately for fixing camera wires.

2.Installing the Wires:

Connect the camera wire with other given wires which can be divided into three parts. You should pair them up and change the position of the wires.

To get a source of power for the camera, you can use either the number plate light or the backlight.

You can use a voltmeter during installation to know about positive and negative wires. Now connect the positive light wire to the positive camera wire and the negative light wire to the negative camera wire. You can do it by using electrical connectors.

3. Connect Your Wires:

You can connect your wires using a splicer. Use a wire peeler to remove the layer of plastic and expose the copper from the positive light wire. Now make the exposed copper half in two pieces and let the positive camera wire pass through the hole between the wires of copper. Wrap the positive camera wire around the light wire for a stable connection.

And follow the same procedure for negative wires.

4.Placing the Wires:

It depends on your choice of wherever you want to place the wires according to the types of cars you use.

5.Attaching the System:

After following the above-mentioned steps, connect all three types of wires and you can use a voltmeter to get the best spot for connecting them.

6. Reconnect The Battery Monitor:

Then reconnect the battery monitor and start your car then see if the monitor works and show the reverse camera feed. You can turn off your car once you see the monitor working otherwise again follow these steps and check for any loose ends.
